London-based startup Isometric is shaking up the carbon industry with its groundbreaking approach. Today, they unveil their cutting-edge science platform, with a registry set to launch in the near future. Dissatisfied with existing carbon registries, Isometric took it upon themselves to create a better solution.
Founded in 2022 by serial entrepreneur Eamon Jubbawy, Isometric has already made waves, securing an impressive $25 million in funding during a Seed round. The round was led by Lowercarbon Capital and Plural, with notable investors including Niklas Zennström (Skype), David Helgason (Unity Technologies), Ross Mason (MuleSoft), and Ilkka Paananen (Supercell).
Recognizing the need for increased transparency within the industry, Isometric's science platform serves as a collaborative tool for suppliers, buyers, and the academic community, driving advancements in the field of carbon removal. Built on a foundation of scientific expertise, the platform offers legible data and embraces rigorous protocols. It enables the quantitative assessment of carbon removed by various processes, a crucial step in verifying carbon credits.
Isometric's science team has already made an impact, independently reviewing historically delivered tonnes for Charm Industrial. Notably, Charm Industrial recently announced over $50 million carbon removal sales to esteemed names like JP Morgan, Stripe, Shopify, Meta, Alphabet, McKinsey, and others. These verified carbon removal figures can be accessed today through Isometric's science platform.
With the newly secured funds, Isometric plans to expand its team by hiring more scientists and engineers. This strategic move will facilitate the further developing of their public registry for verified credits. Anticipated to launch later this year, the registry promises to be a game-changer in the carbon industry.
Lowercarbon Capital's Ryan Orbuch will also bring his expertise as he joins the Isometric board, further reinforcing the startup's vision and growth potential.
Isometric's innovative science platform and forthcoming registry herald a new era in carbon removal. With a commitment to transparency and scientific rigor, Isometric is spearheading advancements in the field while attracting significant investment and support.
