Peanut, the innovative social networking app tailored for women, is taking a significant step forward with the launch of its new feature, Peanut Track, designed to support users through their pregnancy journey. This tool harnesses seven years of community data and artificial intelligence to anticipate common questions women may have at various stages of pregnancy, providing them with personalized, insightful guidance.
Since its inception in 2017, Peanut has built a thriving online community that connects women through shared experiences, spanning from puberty to menopause. With Peanut Track, the platform is now expanding its focus from community engagement to offering practical, individualized support for expectant mothers.
"We’ve always been about community," said Peanut CEO and founder Michelle Kennedy. "But what about the times when I’m looking to source information rather than engage with someone else? It’s about delivering the content we know users will ask about, based on the experiences of countless women over the past seven years."
Peanut Track will provide users with timely information on what to expect during their pregnancy, featuring content crafted by gynecologists. The tool will also share traditional pregnancy metrics, helping women understand how their baby is developing—whether it’s the size of a peach or a pumpkin—while outlining potential symptoms they may experience.
Staying true to Peanut's community-driven ethos, this feature also fosters connections among users who are at similar pregnancy stages, creating a supportive network for shared experiences.
The introduction of Peanut Track is a response to user requests, showcasing the app's commitment to listening to its community and adapting to their needs. Looking ahead, the company plans to launch Peanut Grow next year, a feature designed to assist new mothers in tracking their newborn's development and their own well-being.
"You can track feedings and diaper changes, but what about tracking how you're feeling?" Kennedy emphasized. "That’s crucial, especially considering issues like postpartum depression and loneliness. It’s not just about diagnosing loneliness; it’s about offering solutions, like connecting women who are going through the same challenges."
To date, Peanut has secured $32 million in funding, including a $10 million round in August 2022 that helped the company reach profitability. This investment underscores Peanut's growth and its potential to empower women at every stage of their lives.
With Peanut Track, the app is poised to redefine the pregnancy experience, blending community support with essential, individualized information—helping women navigate this exciting yet often challenging journey.
