Microsoft has officially launched its AI-powered Designer app, making it accessible to all users on iOS and Android. This Canva-like tool allows users to create a wide range of designs, from stickers and greeting cards to invitations and collages, simply by using text prompts.
Designer is available in over 80 languages on the web, as a free mobile app, and as an app in Windows. The app offers “prompt templates” to kickstart creativity, featuring customizable styles and descriptions. Users can also share templates, allowing for collaborative design projects.
Beyond stickers, the app lets you generate emojis, clip art, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and more with text prompts. The AI capabilities of Designer extend to photo editing, enabling users to upload selfies and transform them with various styles and added details.
Soon, Designer will introduce a “replace background” feature, allowing users to change image backgrounds using text prompts.
With the launch of the standalone app, Microsoft is also integrating Designer into other services like Word and PowerPoint through Copilot. Users with a Copilot Pro subscription will be able to create images and designs directly within their workflow, including generating document banners in Word based on the document's content.
Additionally, Microsoft Photos on Windows 11 is getting enhanced integration with Designer, allowing users to edit photos without leaving the app. Features such as object erasing, background removal, and auto-cropping are now available directly within Microsoft Photos.
This new accessibility and integration make Microsoft’s Designer app a powerful tool for anyone looking to enhance their creative projects with ease and efficiency.
