Elon Musk's nostalgic vision for Tesla is finally taking shape as the company gears up to unveil its retro-themed diner. Tesla is actively recruiting for a Tesla Diner Experience Specialist in Los Angeles, signaling a major step towards the launch of this unique venture. The job posting, spotted by Drive Tesla Canada on LinkedIn, reveals that the specialist will play a key role in curating an exceptional customer experience at the diner.
This move comes three years after Tesla filed trademarks for restaurant services and seven years after Musk first floated the idea of combining a Tesla charging station with a diner. The position, posted two weeks ago, has already attracted significant interest, with 26 applications submitted before the listing was closed.
While the posting doesn’t specify an opening date, it does hint at some exciting features. True to Musk's earlier promise, the diner will include a drive-in movie theater, complete with an outdoor screen showcasing classic film scenes. The specialist will oversee the movie schedule and manage various digital tasks, collaborating with Tesla’s design, merchandising, and app teams, among others.
Located at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, the diner will feature around 30 Tesla Supercharging stations and operate around the clock. The two outdoor movie screens, however, will be available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
Described by Musk as "Grease meets The Jetsons with Supercharging," the diner is expected to offer a blend of retro charm and futuristic convenience. Although Musk has a history of ambitious timelines, with the Tesla robotaxi's reveal date recently pushed back to October, fans are eagerly awaiting this nostalgic venture that promises to combine classic diner vibes with cutting-edge Tesla technology.
