Ring has unveiled its next-generation Battery Doorbell, setting a new standard for affordability and functionality in home security. Priced at $100, this latest model offers significant upgrades over its predecessors, including extended battery life, color night vision, and a comprehensive head-to-toe view of visitors.
The new Battery Doorbell features a dramatic 66% taller view compared to the previous Ring Video Doorbell 2nd Gen, thanks to its expanded 150-degree by 150-degree field of view. This enhancement ensures users get a full top-to-bottom look at their doorstep, making it easier to monitor package deliveries and visitors. This feature, once exclusive to higher-end models like the Doorbell Plus and Pro, is now available in a more budget-friendly option, aligning Ring with competitors such as Arlo, Google Nest, and Wyze.
Battery life has also seen a boost, with the new doorbell offering up to 23% more usage time. The redesigned mounting system simplifies charging by allowing the battery to be removed with a push-pin tool, streamlining the maintenance process.
Enhanced color night vision ensures clear visibility around the clock, while standard features like motion alerts, live video streaming, two-way talk, and customizable motion zones continue to be integral. For those opting into the Ring Protect plan, priced at $5 per month or $50 per year, additional benefits include person and package alerts and access to 180 days of video history.
The Battery Doorbell is available for preorder on Ring.com and Amazon.com, with shipments starting September 4. As Ring continues to evolve its offerings, this new model represents a smart, feature-rich option for anyone looking to enhance their home security without breaking the bank.
