In the fast-paced world of smartphones, managing notifications can be a double-edged sword. Android users often find themselves inundated with alerts, making it easy to overlook important messages. Enter Pinnit, an innovative app designed to help users regain control over their notification experience. With a powerful notification history feature and the ability to create custom reminders, Pinnit stands out as a must-have tool for those who want to streamline their digital lives.
Developed by Indian software engineer Sasikanth Miriyampalli and Brazilian designer Eduardo Pratti, Pinnit was first launched in 2020. Its original premise allowed users to pin tasks directly to the notification bar, ensuring nothing important slipped through the cracks. Now, the app has undergone a significant redesign, introducing an enhanced notification history feature that lets users revisit all dismissed notifications and even search through them by date or app.
“The initial plan for the app was always to support notification history, but we weren’t able to build it at that time,” Miriyampalli shared. “Now, we’ve rebuilt the app from the ground up to incorporate this feature, along with dynamic theming and a new user interface.”
Pinnit’s mission is clear: amidst a sea of notifications, it’s all too easy for important reminders to get lost. With Pinnit, users can create persistent notifications that keep vital tasks front and center without losing the original content. Whether it’s a missed call, an important email, or updates on a favorite sports match, Pinnit allows users to pin these alerts for easy access later.
Looking ahead, the team plans to roll out exciting new features, including location-based reminders, enhanced privacy settings with word filtering, app widgets, and support for larger screens.
Pinnit is available for a one-time fee of $1.99 after a 14-day trial period, offering a straightforward solution for anyone looking to master their notification management. With its focus on user experience and thoughtful design, Pinnit is poised to be a game-changer for Android users navigating their daily digital landscape.
