New Mac Mini Could Be Apple TV Size

Apple is gearing up to unveil an upgraded Mac mini that may be as compact as an Apple TV
October 28, 2024

Exciting developments are on the horizon for Apple enthusiasts as the Mac mini prepares for a significant upgrade, possibly unveiling a design nearly as compact as the Apple TV. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is set to refresh its desktop computer lineup this week, introducing two new Mac mini models that promise enhanced performance and an even smaller footprint.

The Mac mini, often seen as a bridge between the consumer-friendly iMac and Apple’s professional desktop offerings, is poised to make a bold statement with its new design. Reports suggest that the updated version will shrink to nearly the size of the Apple TV set-top box, making it a more versatile option for users with limited space. Featuring two USB ports in the front and up to three in the back, this iteration aims to boost accessibility and connectivity.

One of the standout features of the new Mac mini is its support for ray tracing, a cutting-edge graphics technique that enhances visual realism in applications and games. Gurman’s sources indicate that this will mark the most advanced Mac yet powered by Apple’s in-house silicon, further solidifying the brand's commitment to delivering high-performance computing solutions.

Alongside the Mac mini, Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil a range of new devices, including a 24-inch iMac, a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and two versions of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, all equipped with the anticipated M4 chip.

In addition to these hardware updates, there are whispers of a new smart home display from Apple, designed to be roughly the size of two iPhones placed side-by-side, featuring a sleek base similar to the iconic iMac G4 and integrated speakers.

With these innovations, Apple continues to redefine the boundaries of desktop computing and smart home technology, providing users with powerful tools that seamlessly integrate into their lives. Keep an eye out for this week’s announcements, as they promise to set the stage for Apple’s next chapter in tech advancement.
