Immutable, a prominent Web3 gaming platform, has teamed up with MarbleX, Netmarble’s blockchain gaming division, in a pivotal partnership aimed at elevating the gaming experience. This collaboration will see MarbleX and its major IP titles migrate to the Immutable zkEVM chain, a specialized blockchain platform powered by Polygon.
The partnership entails transferring MarbleX’s entire gaming platform and three flagship titles to Immutable zkEVM:
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds – A vibrant MMORPG blending real and fantasy worlds.
A3: Still Alive – A dark fantasy RPG set in a post-apocalyptic realm.
Meta World: My City – Sequel to the popular board game integrating metaverse elements.
These games, moving from the Klaytn Layer 1 chain, will now exclusively operate on Immutable zkEVM, joining over 330 other titles already integrated into the platform.
Immutable zkEVM attracts developers and gamers alike with robust features, boasting over 1.8 million monthly active users. It includes tools like the Immutable Passport, a non-custodial wallet tailored for players, and the Immutable Global Orderbook, enhancing asset distribution and liquidity across major marketplaces.
Robbie Ferguson, president of Immutable, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, underscoring South Korea’s potential as a hub for Web3 gaming. Ferguson highlighted MarbleX and Netmarble’s leadership and their ambition to scale globally. This collaboration, coupled with previous ventures with Polygon Labs and a portfolio of 350+ games, solidifies Immutable’s role in advancing Web3 gaming and digital property rights.
In tandem with the migration, Immutable and MarbleX launched the “Ecosystem Boost Program,” earmarking $20 million to support developers. This initiative aims to accelerate game development and attract new titles to both ecosystems.
Hong Jin Pyo, CEO of MarbleX, emphasized their commitment to innovative Web3 gaming experiences. Partnering with Immutable provides scalability and broader reach for current and future titles, leveraging Immutable’s advanced zkEVM chain infrastructure.
